Jan Broeckx (Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich) comes from Antwerp where he completed his formal dance training at the Stedelijk Instituut voor Ballet Antwerp. At 17 he won the Prix de Lausanne. This lead to engagements as a first soloist with the Ballet of Flanders, the Deutsche Oper Berlin and at Bayerische Staatsballett München. Jan Broeckx ist head of the Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Previously he has been “Danseur etoile” at Ballet National de Marseille. As a dancer and choreographer, he worked with Rudolf Nureyev, George Balanchine, John Cranko, Jiri Kylian and Ziti Jeanmaire, among others.
